A year ago today, the 33 Chilean miners that were trapped underground for 69 days were rescued as the world watched.

The library has been getting some great books about the whole story:

Jonathan Franklin’s 33 men : inside the miraculous survival and dramatic rescue of the Chilean miners

Manuel Pino’s Buried alive : the true story of the Chilean mining disaster and the extraordinary rescue at Camp Hope

And, for young people or for a brief discussion, Marc Aronson’s Trapped : how the world rescued 33 miners from 2,000 feet below the Chilean desert.

Experience this incredible story one more time!
